I thought it was all the way switched off, but it wasn’t. The perils of a ~400,000 mile car with a worn cylinder + a key that has no loop on it + a safe place to park so I just leave the key in most of the time... The Rover needed me to prime up the fuel and top off the radiator, but it roared happily with all 70hp all the way to work.

time to invest more in the car than it’s worth with a new ignition cylinder ;)

Hey, the state of NC claims that it’s worth $2500. Would they lie to me?

So you went to loonyville, left the key on, should likely get a new cylinder since it could probably be started with a spoon, *and* the state of NC says it’s worth $2500?
It’s not like they have anything better to do, right?

I have doubts as to whether it could be started with a spoon, since the original key doesn’t want to start it. Yes, the Ilco key that replaced the primary set in the past can start it, but the cylinder is so worn out the only other key, original, very nearly doesn’t work at all *because it’s fresher*.

Well, how do you know until you try to carve a spoon handle in the shape of the Ilco key?

That would be cheating. Which is fine when not expressly prohibited, Mr. Yunick, but we need to amend the bylaws.

But it’s fundamental to a person’s right to dignity to be able to start their car with their spoons. Why would you deny this, Mr. Roberts?
